Affordable
Planx is a linear wood ceiling system consisting of precision, factory
detailed wood panels attached to a concealed carrier suspended from the
structure above. A variety of perimeter and transition details are available
with the Planx system. Depending on access requirements, two options are
available; Planx I and Planx II. (See details shown).

Arboreal
Real wood veneers provide the allure of rich grains and subtle tones
that only nature can create. Arboreal is an actual wood veneer
and is factory finished with a clear or stained coating. See Finishes
for selection guide.

Composite Material
Planx core material is a fire rated particleboard with a UL rating
Class I, (0-25 Flame Spread) and laminated with a quality select Arboreal
veneer on all exposed faces.
System
Planx is a linear wood ceiling system consisting of precision,
factory detailed wood panels attached to a concealed carrier suspended
from the structure above. A variety of perimeter and transition details
are available with the Planx system. Depending on access requirements,
two options are available; Planx I and Planx II. (See details shown).
Panel Sizes
The standard Planx module width is 3-1/2 with a 1/2
spacing between panels, creating a 4 center line system. Other
module sizes are available, 6 and 8. Panels are available
in standard lengths of 8-10 feet and can be joined together with internal
splices. Other size panels, both in width and length are be available,
Ceilings Plus can also coordinate special factory cut sizes and miters
for a unique project requirement.
Reveal/Acoustics
The Planx reveal can be closed with a standard black reveal fabric
strip or can be specified open. When acoustic performance is desired,
the reveal is left open or an optional 1" black faced fiberglass
blanket is placed above panels. With an acoustical blanket above and
an open reveal, a NRC of. 80 @ 500 Hz is achieved. Actual test results
may be available, upon request from qualified professionals.
Plenum
The Planx system requires a minimum plenum depth of 2-1/4.
Additional plenum depth may be required if lighting fixtures and/or
air diffusers are to be used.
Utilities
Fire Sprinklers, lighting fixtures and speakers may be located within
a Planx panel. Factory cut holes for these utilities are included when
specified.
Test Reports
Ceilings Plus has developed the Planx wood ceiling systems to
meet ASTM 635, ASTM 636 and typical local building code requirements.
Test reports for suspension system and finish performance are available
upon request. Arboreal meets Class I finish requirements 0-25
Flame Spread as tested in ASTM E84.
